GeoIP lookup

Automatically check for GeoIP, then run actions based on the results. ThinkAutomation has a baked-in lookup action that will check for geolocation. So, you can use GeoIP data such as country, state, city, zip code, latitude/longitude, ISP, area code, etc, as part of your broader business workflows.

GeoIP lookup – overview

  • Connect ThinkAutomation to your messages sources (mailboxes, webforms, databases, etc) via our automation studio
  • You can then drag-and-drop actions and conditions as you design your workflows, including a GeoIP lookup
  • When triggered, ThinkAutomation will perform a GeoIP lookup for any IP address, domain name, email address or URL
  • The lookup will return the city, region and country for any IP address, as well as an organisation name (where available)
  • It will then assign this data to variables for further processing / subsequent automations, as configured in your flow

 GeoIP lookup – use cases

  • Validate customer details to check that a GeoIP country from an email address matches the country specified on an order form
  • Obtain GeoIP information from users when receiving messages via the API from web forms / web requests
