Execute PowerShell

Execute PowerShell

Automatically launch a PowerShell script at a certain time or when certain conditions are met. Plus, ThinkAutomation will enhance the given PowerShell possibilities further by enabling smooth, subsequent automations in third-party systems.

Execute PowerShell – overview

  • ThinkAutomation provides an open-ended automation studio from which you can orchestrate connections, conditions, and automations via a drag and drop GUI
  • The inbuilt PowerShell action will execute a Windows PowerShell command or script file, then return the response to a ThinkAutomation variable for further processing
  • As part of your workflow, you can enter the PowerShell Command or specify PowerShell Script File
  • For PowerShell Commands, you can either specify the command and its parameters or you can specify the command only and then provide parameter names and values
  • You can then select the variable that you want the response/results to be assigned to, which can be used to trigger subsequent conditional actions as needed

Execute PowerShell – use cases

  • Scan for certain event log IDs on company servers, then Teams message a report to a work group
  • Automate compliance checks and bridge triggered calls in the event of non-compliance
  • User onboarding workflows, including 2-factor authorisation via SMS
  • Parse inbound files and automatically copy them to a backup NAS
  • Plus countless more, depending on your desired use case
