ThinkAutomation reads inbound messages from multiple sources

Each message is processed against your check conditions and conditional branches

When a condition is met, ThinkAutomation is then triggered to perform the relevant database action

Workflows for Database

Update a database

Use ThinkAutomation to automatically push data to your database

A prospect submits a web form to download an online resource. ThinkAutomation checks the data for validity, then extracts the prospect’s name, contact and company details to create a new database record.

Our software bots monitor messages from POP3, IMAP and Exchange servers, Twitter feeds, web pages, RSS feeds and external databases.

After reading these incoming messages, ThinkAutomation then uses rule-based logic to extract key data and migrate it across to your database – so you don’t have to.

Database bridging

Use ThinkAutomation to integrate your databases

You need to continually sync data between a database and your CRM.  ThinkAutomation can monitor your database activity, detect new input, and automatically push that data to the right place in your CRM – all using rule-based logic.

ThinkAutomation can make your databases communicate with each other. Your data can be pushed, retrieved and modified from application to application, for ongoing synchronisation.

This bridging can be a simple data push. Or, it can be part of an automated workflow running a series of conditional processes. Either way, ThinkAutomation makes your data fluid from system to system.

Database pulls

Use ThinkAutomation to incorporate database queries and lookups in your workflows

You want to send an introductory email to new customers added to a database. ThinkAutomation checks the ‘Customers’ table for new records at regular intervals. When a new record is found, your automatic email is sent.

ThinkAutomation automates the database pull process and runs smart actions from the results. First, our software bots perform database queries on a scheduled or spontaneous basis.

ThinkAutomation will then retrieve the results and read any number of messages. Based on your trigger conditions, ThinkAutomation will run the necessary follow-up action against records.

Database backups

Use ThinkAutomation for message store backup and restore

Your SQL Server database has suffered a failure. To access all the inbound messages processed that day, you can see full copies including any files or attachments in the ThinkAutomation message store.

ThinkAutomation provides an inbuilt message store backup service. Every database record it processes, every message it parses, is logged separately in the ThinkAutomation message store.

This means your data is protected against accidental deletion, system failure, user migration and IT disaster – all automatically and in the background.

Database reports

Use ThinkAutomation to analyse and dissect your database

You want to find out how many emails each department receives per week, in order to allocate resources more effectively. So, you use the ThinkAutomation report designer to create a custom report based on inbound email metadata.

ThinkAutomation comes complete with a database report designer. This allows you to build custom reports on your database, for open-ended dissection of your data.

Reports can use extracted field data, plus link to external sources. You get to hook up touchpoints, creating a comprehensive reporting system that covers anything and everything you need.

Database cleansing

Use ThinkAutomation to keep your records healthy

You want to ensure that all your telephone numbers have been formatted with the correct country code. So, you perform a database pull to find all customers situated in the UK whose listed numbers do not begin with the correct +44 code, and push a mass change.

ThinkAutomation automatically executes database commands, as well as updating databases either directly or using custom SQL statements.

As part of this, you can use ThinkAutomation to automate your data cleansing processes. Archaic data can be removed, invalid entries reformatted and inaccurate manual entries eliminated.

Database counters

Use ThinkAutomation for tracking and measuring

You want to analyse the sentiment of your inbound emails. ThinkAutomation can be trained to recognise positive and negative messages, and assigns tokens to your emails based on sentiment. You can then pull sentiment reports at any time, to track customer satisfaction.

ThinkAutomation helps you look analytically at the body of emails coming into your business. Using a token system, ThinkAutomation will track, count, and run reports on email content and context.

You add tokens for data items that you’d like to log, such as keywords or field values. From there, ThinkAutomation will continually update counter values in the message store, for later reporting.

Data protection

Use ThinkAutomation for secure processing

You work in a regulated environment, and often need to encrypt or decrypt data. So, you run ThinkAutomation behind a DMZ. Once your inbound emails are in a secure location, ThinkAutomation will automatically decrypt them.

ThinkAutomation can both encrypt and decrypt data. This helps you manage and protect your confidential assets as you push data from place to place.

Your sensitive data is processed using AES encryption. As part of an automated workflow, encrypted/decrypted data can then be returned to the relevant field or variable.

Data transformation

Use ThinkAutomation to extract, transform and load

You need to convert data from .csv files into tables in an SQL Server database. So, you use ThinkAutomation to perform this process automatically and accurately – for both historic files and on an ongoing basis.

You have data from multiple sources, in multiple formats. ThinkAutomation can get this data, transform it as required, and move it to multiple data stores.

You use ‘If’ rules to tell ThinkAutomation what to extract, how to transform, and where to load. From there, it will quietly and consistently take care of your data transformation needs.

Database monitoring

Use ThinkAutomation as a database alert system

Your database has experienced an outage outside of office hours. ThinkAutomation detects the outage, and sends an SMS to the out-of-hours support telephone – making your on-call technician immediately aware of the problem.

ThinkAutomation can detect outages in your database. Better, it can respond to database issues by performing the appropriate automated action.

With round the clock database monitoring, you can get auto-alerts for heavy usage, or triggered calls when a database is down. This helps you better manage your database, without the manual efforts.

Database analysis

Use ThinkAutomation as a database health checker

You want to run scripts on your database, but don’t want to put strain on the system. So, you use ThinkAutomation to monitor database activity. When activity is light, ThinkAutomation will run your most long-running scripts.

ThinkAutomation helps you keep tabs on day to day database activity. Our software bots can monitor database performance metrics, and keep you posted on findings.

Importantly, ThinkAutomation can both record and react. You can use database analysis simply to find out about usage trends, or you can use metrics to trigger automated action.

The workflow builder

ThinkAutomation lets you build your database workflows, your way. There are no limits to the number of workflows you can create, or the number of steps you can include. Our workflow builder is built on a foundation of conditions, triggers, and actions. You set the conditions, and our software bots will do the rest.

First, you define a condition. This will behave as an "if-check" for your trigger.

Next, the trigger will fire an action when the relevant event happens. This could be the creation of a new database record, or the discovery of an outage.

An action will then process and complete your first automation step. For example, this is where our software bots might push your data to another system, or send a triggered email.
