Automation Action – Detect Language | ThinkAutomation

Automation Action: Detect Language

Detect the language of any text and assign the language code to a variable.

Detects the language for any text and returns the language code to a variable.

This action forms part of ThinkAutomation’s broader workflow automation software, enabling automated workflows to identify the language of incoming emails, messages, documents and other text so that content can be routed, translated or processed automatically according to language.

Enter the Text To Detect. This field is limited to 10000 characters.

Select the variable you want the language code assigned to from the Assign Language Code To Variable list.

Translation requires a Translation account. This is configured in the Server Settings – Translation.

You can also use the Ask AI action to detect the language of any text. Simply send a prompt such as:

What language is this? %Msg_Body% Just return the language ISO 2 letter code.

You can send any ThinkAutomation variable(s) with the prompt.

Automate Language Detection in Business Workflows

ThinkAutomation can automatically identify the language used in incoming text and assign the detected language code to a variable for use by subsequent workflow actions. This allows multilingual emails, enquiries, web form submissions and other messages to be processed differently according to their detected language.

For example, an incoming customer enquiry could be automatically identified as French, translated into English and routed to the appropriate team. The workflow could then generate a response and translate it back into French before sending it to the customer.

Automatically Route Messages by Language

Once a language has been detected, ThinkAutomation can use conditional workflow rules to determine what happens next. Messages could be routed to different teams, translated into a standard business language, stored for reporting or passed to different automated processes depending on the detected language.
